Discovery Church

At Discovery Church you will find people just like you who are actively pursuing a meaningful, and life-changing relationship with God, through their faith in Jesus Christ.

As a community we meet on Sunday evenings to provide an opportunity for those who call Discovery their home to become actively involved in their community on weekends and still have an time to join with their friends and family at church before the hectic pace of the workweek kicks into high gear!

One of the first things you will notice when you come to Discovery is you will find a friendly relaxing atmosphere where singles, families, and people of all ages come together in a causal environment to learn, grow, and serve one another and the community. People who find Discovery the right fit for them as they search for a church family to do life together with, are people who desire to follow God's plans and purposes for their lives, for the lives of their families, and for those that God has placed around them!

Kids love it at Discovery too!

Each Sunday the children head to the front of the church for Pastor Trevor to pray for them before rushing off to enjoy a time where they are given an opportunity to learn about God in a kid-friendly fun environment called Discoveryland! Once there they are treated to an interactive learning environment tailored to their age and learning ability by loving and caring leaders who are committed to helping them grow in their relationship with God and each other!

Kids Zone

Kids Zone’s mission is to provide childcare services that prepare your child for the future. They use an interactive approach that allows teachers to observe the children individually as they participate within their group, allowing each child to grow and develop at their own pace. Throughout the day children work in small groups, as well as individual settings, and with the rest of the class in supervised activities. They believe your child will benefit from both the structured and non-structured learning.

Xtreme Theatre

Xtreme Theatre was created in 2000 by Wendy Holm, and was originally called “Home’s Cool Theatre”. Primarily run by volunteers, all families involved are needed to help make the shows happen each year. Our families volunteer with set building, props, costumes, advertising and programs during the year to most backstage jobs during showtime. We depend upon and appreciate all of our volunteers.

Xtreme Theatre is a group where home schooled children are able to be part of a musical theatre production. Although children from all faith backgrounds are welcome to be a part of this group, it should be noted that this group is run by Christian teachers. We seek to put on shows of an excellent quality , and we encourage all the students to do, and be, the best they can, for God’s glory.

Wendy Holm has been the producer and coordinator since the beginning, starting with 18 children. Current enrollment is over 130 children between the ages of 5 and 17.

This group was created to provide an opportunity for all home schooled children to experience musical theatre and to help them meet their educational goals. Children who have been involved in this program have not only benefited educationally, but have made life long friends.

We believe that all home schooled children can be a part of a musical theatre production, provided they are willing to work hard at rehearsals.

Stewart School of Irish Dance

The Stewart School offers Traditional Irish Dance classes in Vancouver, Surrey (Cloverdale), Richmond and Maple Ridge. Classes are held Monday through Thursday and are available to boys and girls aged 4 and up.

Magdalene Stewart and the Stewart School of Irish Dance fosters a passion for Irish dancing while building not only strong bodies, but strong friendships and character in each dancer.

Stewart School Dancers are recognized as leaders at local, national & international level competitions. Numerous dancers have won both medals and titles at World, North American, and Regional Championships.

It’s not all about medals and competition though. Magdalene approaches each of her students with enthusiasm and belief – both of which are easily seen in all of her students. The school is a supportive community of dancers and parents, all of whom share Magdalene’s passion for Irish dance and culture.
